Emmanuel Tutumor was born in Tyler, Texas on November 22, 1982 to Emmanuel Efe Tutumor and Velma Denise Simpson. Emmanuel lived in Tyler, Texas for 3 years before moving back along with his father to his mother's hometown, San Diego, California in 1985. He lived in San Diego for 10 years then ended up moving back with his parents to Dallas, Texas in March of 1995. Emmanuel always had a passion for watching and performing in films although he was a shy kid growing up so his mother decided to enroll him in his first on stage performance as one of Santa's reindeer's in a Christmas play in 1986. Acting was something Emmanuel contemplated after high school in order to avoid joining the army in the summer of 2001 while continuing to work part time in retail. After graduating from W.T. White High School in 2001, Emmanuel attended Community college at Brookhaven studying Humanity Arts and Business Administration.
