From an early age, Charles Bunce became actively involved in the filmmaking process, including working on the award-winning student film "Mr. Petrified Forest" (1992) with now-notables JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk. For over twenty-five years Charles has been engaged in video and audio production and post-production. His experience spans commercial (local and national), promotional video, narrative (film and television), music video, and documentary. He has also recorded, mixed, and produced albums for numerous recording artists. His recent works include the television pilot "Finding Fortune" (2016) which received almost twenty nominations and awards across multiple film festivals, the award wining documentary "CUT: Exposing FGM" (2018), and finally, the psychological thriller "The Black String", starring Frankie Muniz, which premiered in Fall 2018 at the Austin Film Festival. An Avid Certified Instructor in both ProTools and Media Composer, Mr. Bunce teaches courses in audio and video post-production, film history, media literacy, and video production at Mount St. Mary's University, Los Angeles, where he has been teaching in some capacity since 1998. From 2004-2009 he also served as full-time Activity Director for a Mount federal Title V grant that supported first-generation college students in Education and the Arts.
