Art Imitates life. When performing Biff's monologue from "Death of a Salesman" for his college theater class in his hometown of Boston, MA, Joe Sobalo Jr had no idea that years later, his acting career would come full circle. Joe was extremely humbled to portray Alejandro in the film "Eve," directed by Tate Taylor ("The Help"). Acting opposite world renowned actors Colin Farrell and John Malkovich in his first supporting role for a big budget feature was a wonderful experience for Joe. When Joe discovered that his scene in the film would also be opposite John Malkovich, he realized that he had truly manifested this moment. Joe had carefully studied John's work in the 1985 miniseries "Death of a Salesman," for which Malkovich won both the Golden Globe and the Emmy, for his college performance. He was a big fan of Malkovich's work. Working with such greats was an incredible start to Joe's budding career. Recently, Joe had a major supporting role in the feature film, "Lasso," which was released on 11/14/2018 on VOD. He plays the role of Paul, an animal activist who later ends up in peril, begging for his life. In another recent project, Joe was able to honor his late grandfather, a military veteran of World War II. He portrayed the role of Private Cooper in "Medal of Honor," Episode 4. "Medal of Honor" was released on Netflix on 11/09/2018. Joe is also a talented athlete and stuntman, trained in Krav Maga, Kung Fu, and Kenpo. After joining SAG-AFTRA and years of diverse stunt training, Joe has had the pleasure of performing many on-screen stunts. He has performed fighting, squib hits, wire work, high falls, stunt driving, air rams, stair falls, getting T-boned, and more, in a variety of feature film and television shows. Joe has also perfected the 'art of dying' - and has died on screen in many projects.
