Scott Richards was born in Adelaide, South Australia. He started his career writing political presentations including for the Australian Senate. In 2000, Scott wrote the 13th House with Shaun Duncan, a story that was inspired by his experiences working for a Political Advisor. Scott continued to write over the next few years, but took a break from 2003 until 2006, when he briefly returned to writing to provide the script for the adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, Dock Side Story, for a live performance at the British Motor Show. For the next decade while living in the Middle East, Scott returned to political affairs as an economic development consultant, writing presentations, speeches and documents for parliaments, ministers and trade delegations.
